Atom Girls Add Wins to their Record
The Blyth-Brussels Atom girls played two games just before the Christmas break.
The first game was Thursday, December 17th in Blyth against a much improved BCH team. Samantha Kerr and Delayna Smith were on fire for the game with Kerr netting the hat trick, while Smith assisted on all three goals, and added an unassisted tally of her own. Sarah Strome also assisted on one of the goals. Julia Beaven had another strong game in net and made several saves, but was beat once late in the game to spoil the shut out attempt. Final score was 4-1.
The second game was against the Walkerton house league team on Saturday, December 19th in Brussels. The home team rolled to an 8-0 win. Smith netted her own hat trick in this game. Sydney Wightman added 2 goals with singles going to Shelby Higgins, Sarah Mitchell and Morgan Willie. Assists went to Smith, Strome, Wightman, Mitchell, Willie, Alexandra Martin, Jasmine Vader, Brittany Walden, Brookelyn Johnston and Julia Beaven.
