Blyth Atoms Finish Regular Season
Atoms start playoffs with Elma Logan.
The Atom boys played in the Wingham Silver Stick tournament playing three games in the round robin needing one more goal to move on. The first game was against Arthur, final score 3-0 for Blyth. Flesherton was the next opponent, and we came up short losing 3-2. With Lucknow up next the locals needed a win to move on to Sunday, final score 4-4. The Atoms played very well and were the only team that didn't lose to the champion Lucknow squad. Blyth goal scorers were: Parker Gibbings, Brenden Howson, Chad Treble, and Cody Treble. Assists earned by: Dawson Coultes, Jacob Coultes, Parker Gibbings, Brenden Howson, Chad Treble, Cody Treble, and Gavin Workman. Outstanding play, from goalies Franklin Marshall and Jeremy Wilts, and players Colton Rodger, Craig Raynard, and Jared Shearer.
The final five regular season games played ended with 4 wins and 1 loss. Scores were: Blyth 16 - Milverton 2, Lucknow 4 - Blyth 2, Blyth 9 - Milverton 3, Blyth 7 - Mitchell 1, and Blyth 5- Goderich 3. All players had multiple point games during the last 5 games.
