09-10 Midget Rep - Blyth vs. Norwich - OMHA Semi-finals
The Blyth Midget Bulldogs are in a real dog fight with last year's reigning OMHA Midget D champs, Norwich Hawks. The series began on February 27th in Blyth and will end on Tuesday, March 9th in Norwich in a sure to be spectacular game 6.
Blyth jumped out to an early series lead beating Norwich 4 - 3 in game one on goals by Dan Dery (2) and Dallas Pennington (2). Chipping in with assists were Tyler Middegaal with 2, Matt Popp with 2, and Dan Dery and Brendan Stretton with singles.
Game two on February 28th in Norwich saw our boys battle to a 1 - 1 overtime tie. The lone goal was scored by Adam Cronin, assisted by Matt Popp.
Game 3 back in Blyth went to Norwich with a score of 0-2.
Not to be eliminated, our Bulldogs returned to Norwich on March 4 and beat their opponents 3 - 1 on goals from Michael McDowell, Adam Cronin, and Austin Sjaarda. Providing assistance for their teammates in Norwich were Tyler Stevenson, Dallas Pennington, John LeComte, and Adam Cronin.
The Bulldogs returned home on Sunday, March 7th hoping to clinch the series and move on, however it was not to be and Norwich took the game 4 - 1. The lone goal for Blyth was scored by Dan Dery and assisted by Shea McLean and Adam Cronin.
The sixth and final game will be held Tuesday, March 9th at 8:15 in Norwich. We wish our Bulldogs good luck. Skate hard and put the puck in the net!
