Atom Rep - Atoms Win WOAA Championship

Atoms win series 3 games to 1.  The Atom rep team won a thriller on Thursday night, 3-2 on home ice to secure the WOAA Atom D championship.

The first game of the series Blyth won 8-4, second game 3-1 for the locals.  Ripley fought back in game 3 winning 5-4. In game 4, Ripley got off to a 2-0 lead throughout the first 2 periods. The boys showed a lot of heart scoring 3 third period goals to secure the win. 

Scoring goals over the four games were Parker Gibbings, Brenden Howson, Chad Treble, Cody Treble, and Gavin Workman.  Earning assists, Dawson Coultes, Jacob Coultes, Parker Gibbings, Brenden Howson, Colton Rodger, Jared Shearer, Chad Treble, and Cody Treble.  Call ups, Carson Richmond and Drew Vanwyk, played solid at all times.  Goalie, Franklin Marshall, made a lot of good saves in the four games he played.

The team now moves on to the OMHA quarter final playing either Embro or Norwich.

    The Blyth Midget Bulldogs are in a real dog fight with last year's reigning OMHA Midget D champs, Norwich Hawks.  The series began on February 27th in Blyth and will end on Tuesday, March 9th in Norwich in a sure to be spectacular game 6.

    The Bantam girls played well in their provincial playoffs this year winning all 5 of their qualifying games. This will be their first year competing at the Provincial Tournament and the girls are really pumped to have this opportunity.

    The dawgs would travel to Listowel for the third game of this playoff schedule.  The Bulldogs would again play an awesome game for the fans to watch.
